The bioplastic parts of Geeky pleasures toys are made from a bio-based polymer called polylactic acid (PLA). This polymer was specifically developed for biomedical applications and is widely used in bioabsorbable sutures and sustained drug release implants due to its non-toxic and biocompatible character.

Our choice to use PLA has significant advantages. Indeed, this bioplastic is both biobased and biodegradable , which distinguishes it from other plastics which are generally one or the other, but rarely both at the same time. PLA is classified as a 100% biobased plastic and comes from renewable resources such as corn or sugar cane.

Geeky pleasures is proud to work with a bio-plastic supplier located in Normandy . This allows me to limit order processing time, reduce the store's carbon footprint, but also promote employment in France and support the local economy.

Silicone parts

The silicone parts of Geeky pleasures toys are made exclusively of RTV (room temperature vulcanized) silicone catalyzed with Platinum.

This silicone is usually used for medical purposes (prostheses, dental impressions, menstrual cups, etc.) or for food (teats for baby bottles, cake moulds, etc.) because it offers very high physical properties such as good tear resistance. , very long life and high heat resistance.

Indeed, the silicone parts of geeky pleasures toys can withstand temperatures ranging from -20 to +200°C and can therefore be sterilized in boiling water without risk of being degraded.

The low viscosity of this silicone also makes it possible to avoid bubbles during manufacture and therefore to offer you a reliable product without tearing or water infiltration .

It should be noted that this high quality material is more expensive than other types of silicones, but I have made the choice to use only top quality materials to ensure the best possible experience for my customers.

Unfortunately, some manufacturers opt for lower quality silicones to reduce the production costs of their toys to the detriment of the health of their users.
